Located in central Santa Barbara, just a few minutes’ drive from the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse, Brass Bear offers distinctive spaces for wedding celebrations of all styles and sizes. With two fully operational restaurant locations, couples can choose an alternative to a traditional wedding venue that fits their vision, guest list, and budget.

Brass Bear Funk Zone offers a cozy, laid-back atmosphere for casual wedding receptions and elopements, with semi-private and private event options.

Brass Bear Uptown provides a more elevated setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions, with flexible layouts and partial or full restaurant buyouts.

Both locations offer the essentials for a seamless celebration: the space, professional staffing, food, and beverages. You bring the personal touches that make it yours, and we’ll help take care of the rest.

Brass Bear Funk Zone

Full private buyouts

Our full buyout option at our Funk Zone location offers the most flexibility for seating arrangements, menu selections, and outside vendors. Brass Bear Funk Zone accommodates 100 seated for a full buyout, and 200 standing for a cocktail hour set up.

Semi-private patio booking

The perfect space for more relaxed celebrations. Accommodates maximum 50 seated or 75 standing.

Brass Bear Uptown

spacious indoor & outdoor options

Brass Bear Uptown is the preferred location for wedding ceremonies and receptions, seating up to 200 guests with a full buyout. Partial buyouts are available with seating up to 150 guests.

Wedding receptions of 50-100 guests

Seating on our private terrace or large private dining room with cocktail hour and dancing in the opposite space.

Where are your locations?

Brass Bear has two Santa Barbara restaurants. Brass Bear Funk Zone is one and half blocks from the ocean in the heart of downtown. Brass Bear Uptown is in central Santa Barbara, a few minutes' drive from the Santa Barbara Courthouse.

Can we have our ceremony at Brass Bear?

Yes. Brass Bear Uptown hosts wedding ceremonies for an additional fee. Brass Bear Funk Zone is a great fit for elopements and more laid-back receptions.

What's included?

Brass Bear provides the space, our professional staff, food and beverage. Our Uptown location’s private spaces include our X-back vineyard style chairs and 60” round tables, china, glassware, and affordable table linens, linen napkins, and charger rentals.

Our more relaxed Funk Zone location offers a mix of high top tables, patio furniture, keg seats in our beer garden. We provide disposable plates, cutlery, and napkins.

You bring the personal touches: flowers, signs, music, a photo wall, whatever makes it yours.

Is amplified sound permitted?

Please inquire with our event manager for more specifics. Amplified sound is permitted in private spaces (a Funk Zone private buyout, or a private space at Uptown) with specific written permission from the restaurant.

Do we need a wedding coordinator?

Wedding coordinators are only required for full buyouts. For all other events, coordinators are recommended but not required.

Our event team sets up the space and oversees your food and beverage service. Our event manager helps you plan and figure out what works best for your event. A coordinator handles the rest: run of show, decor advice, coordinating your timeline, and vendor management.

How far ahead should we book?

We recommend reaching out at least 6-9 months ahead for Saturdays and peak season, and sooner for large buyouts. Weekday and Sunday dates are often easier to secure on short notice.
